Humpback Whale breach - Napali - North Shore Kauai -

“Kohola”- Seeker of the Light
Over many whale watch tours I have done, this whale cooperated the best. The whale breached
at least 30 times in a row as it passed by us I got this shot from 100 yards away with a Nikon
200mm lens and a motor drive. This was one of 7 frames, I caught the entire breach including the
splash in 1.5 seconds of air time. The background is near Hana Koa , Napali coast. An ancient
massive landslide, and millions of years of erosion, has shaped this coastline. Feb. 95
